Bale Mountains National Park

Bale Mountains National Park, in the Bale and West Arsi Zones of Oromia, is one of Ethiopia’s most spectacular natural treasures. Rising from 1,500 meters to 4,392 meters at Tulu Dimtu, the country’s second-highest peak, the park boasts stunning scenery and rich biodiversity.

Its diverse landscapes include vast grasslands, beautiful woodlands, the unique Erica belt, the high-altitude Afro-alpine zone, and the misty Harenna Forest, one of Ethiopia’s largest forests. Visitors can spot the endangered Ethiopian wolf, hike to panoramic viewpoints, and explore hidden waterfalls and wildlife-rich trails.
